ABOUT THE ARTIST

LYNN MARLOW

The work of Marlow Glass Arts is conceived, designed, composed, and executed by Lynn Marlow, a gifted artisan with a remarkable eye for color and form.

Lynn, a life coach and psychologist by profession, found her way into working with glass out of a love for the medium and a desire to express her creativity. She bought her first kiln in 2003, with the intent of developing her interest in glass painting. Workshops and courses exposed her to the vibrant and dynamic field of hot glass work, with its infinite variety in techniques for kilnworking. Once she started, she was hooked, and her skill and willingness to experiment has propelled her. The craft that she discovered has taken her far beyond her expectations.

In January, 2004, Lynn was fortunate to be interviewed on the subject of her work in kiln formed glass by Sloan Brewster, for the Meriden Record Journal (see the entire article). The article highlighted the craft and creativity that go into each piece. It was also more than clear how much Lynn loves her work, and finds great joy and creative expression in everything she makes.

Lynn is also a coach for life and creativity, and founder of Creativity Unbound. Please visit www.creativityunbound.com if you'd like more information on coaching with Lynn.

In creating her work in glass, Lynn's desire is to expand her knowledge, explore the possibilities of her medium, and to break conventional boundaries. The quality and depth of her work belies the relatively brief time in which she has pursued her craft. Lynn's work shows an intuitive under-standing of her raw materials and an adventurous spirit that elevate functional pieces to works of art.
