WEAVE PLATTERS

Weave platters use variations in the thickness of glass to create a play of light.

These platters were first fused flat, with what is now the top surface against the kiln shelf. As the glass began to flow, the thinner areas drew up away from the shelf and formed concave lenses. Hold these platters up to the light, and objects are multiplied into a kaleidoscope of images, framed by the unique colors created when strips of glass overlay one another.
